Full Job Description
The CDL A Driver at Ewing Outdoor Supply in Hayward is responsible for customer relations, customer service, branch and vehicle maintenance, and daily branch deliveries. As a CDL A Driver, you will provide exceptional service to our customers in the Hayward area while ensuring the safe and timely transport of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Transport materials to and from retail or distribution centers in the Hayward area
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and identify any mechanical issues
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Comply with CDL rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Load and unload materials as required
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for each delivery
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license
- Proven work experience as a CDL driver
- Experience driving in the Hayward area
- Experience with electronic equipment and software such as GPS, AVL units, and CB radios
- Thorough knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Ability to adapt to changing traffic and weather conditions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle the physical demands of the job
- Willingness to submit to background and drug checks
