Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented First Pattern Maker with expertise in Tukatech to join our team. The First Pattern Maker will play a crucial role in creating first patterns that patterns are as close as possible to the final production sample. These patterns will be used for samples presented to major retail buyers, including Ross, Burlington, DD’s Discounts, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, and more. Your precision and proficiency in Tukatech will ensure that our designs are accurately translated into production-quality patterns.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Pattern Development: Utilize Tukatech to create precise first patterns based on design specifications, ensuring the patterns are as close as possible to the final production sample.
  • Sample Creation: Collaborate with the design and production teams to develop accurate sample patterns for presentations to major retail buyers.
  • Technical Precision: Ensure patterns meet high standards of quality, with attention to seam allowances, grading, and technical specifications.
  • Fabric Optimization: Maximize fabric usage efficiency while maintaining the integrity of the design.
  • Market Standards: Ensure patterns align with the expectations of large retail buyers, considering mass-market production requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, sample makers, and production staff, to ensure seamless pattern-to-production transitions.
  • Software Expertise: Leverage Tukatech for digital pattern-making, grading, and marker creation, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Tukatech: Mandatory expertise in Tukatech pattern-making software.
  • Proven experience as a First Pattern Maker in the apparel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and production processes.
  • Ability to replicate designs accurately and produce production-ready patterns.
  • Experience with sizing, grading, and fitting for diverse retail markets.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Experience working with producing patterns for major retail chains like Ross, Burlington, and TJ Maxx is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current fashion trends and retail market demands.
  • Experience with cost-effective pattern development for mass production.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving design and production requirements.
