Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to maintain and strengthen our company's internal accounting controls. The Accounting Manager will ensure the quality of financial transactions and reporting, develop our financial well-being, and play a leading role in financial decision-making. You will provide senior management with strategic financial input, and oversee the overall accounting processes. You will ensure accuracy in all our financial activities.
To ensure success you need to give management sound advice and manage accounting activities with the aim of visibly reducing costs. Top candidates are confident, analytical, and positive.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes reports and journal entries generated within the department. Identifies and explains period variances.
- Manages and leads one staff accountant
- Recommends, designs, and implements ongoing improvements in accounting processes. Strives for continuous improvement, innovation, and cost reduction.
- Responds to inquiries from borrowers/merchants, management, vendors, and others; answers questions, provides documents, explains procedures, resolves discrepancies and complex problems, and ensures resolution of all issues in an accurate and timely manner.
- Daily cash settlement operations.
- Overseeing accounting operations such as revenue reconciliation, loan origination reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Preparing timely financial statements.
- Ensuring prompt and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Running payroll on a semi-monthly basis.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Developing and forecasting budgets under the direction of CFO.
- Determining the effect of potential business decisions on financial policy.
- Collaborating as company representative with business partners.
- Cooperating with business units and support functions across the company.
- Ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance. CPA required.
- 5+ years related work experience.
- Proficient with QuickBooks.
- Proficient with Excel.
- Outstanding knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
