Facility Attendant

The Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of both indoor and outdoor areas of the facility. This includes cleaning offices, restrooms, and common areas, as well as performing outdoor yard work, including basic landscaping, loading/unloading equipment, and maintaining the grounds. The role also involves assisting with general labor tasks around the yard and warehouse to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.

Pay rate: $18.00 - $19.00

Requirements

Indoor Cleaning Tasks:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, and replenish supplies as needed
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in hallways, offices, break rooms, and common areas
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, counters, and furniture
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors
• Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners as necessary
• Track and monitor inventory levels of office supplies (e.g., paper, pens, toner), facility maintenance items (e.g., cleaning supplies, tools), and employee resources (e.g., computer accessories, ergonomic equipment).
• Ensure accurate inventory records by regularly updating the inventory management system.
• Conduct regular stock checks to identify low stock levels and replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and reporting major repair needs
• Maintain cleanliness of the custodial closet and ensure all equipment is in good working condition
• Respond to immediate cleaning needs during working hours
• Assist in setting up meeting rooms, moving furniture, and handling special cleaning projects

Outdoor/Yard Labor Tasks:

• Clean outdoor areas, including patios, walkways, parking lots, and entryways, to ensure these spaces are free from dirt, debris, and trash
• Maintain yard areas by picking up trash, raking leaves, sweeping sidewalks, and removing hazards
• Perform basic landscaping tasks, such as trimming shrubs, mowing grass, and watering plants
• Load and unload trucks and trailers with equipment and materials as needed
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials around the yard when needed (forklift certification is a plus)
• Pressure wash sidewalks, exterior walls, and outdoor surfaces when necessary
• Maintain and organize the yard by stacking materials, tools, and equipment in designated areas
• Clean and organize wash pad areas, including maintenance of tools, holding tanks, toilets, sinks, and other equipment
• Ensure proper disposal of trash and recycling from outdoor and yard areas
• Safely direct vehicle traffic and assist drivers with loading/unloading procedures when needed
• Perform light maintenance tasks around the yard and warehouse

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial, yard labor or general labor experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Ability to operate cleaning tools such as mops, vacuums, pressure washers, and yard maintenance equipment (e.g., leaf blowers, lawnmowers)
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first few months of employment
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds, and perform physical tasks like bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a courteous demeanor when interacting with customers, coworkers, and the general public

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting as part of daily tasks
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment, including outdoor yard tools and forklifts
• Flexibility to handle both indoor and outdoor cleaning and labor tasks throughout the workday
