Cedars of Marin (www.cedarslife.org) provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Cedars opened its doors in 1919, and for more than a century our person-centered programs and services have supported tens of hundreds of clients in living creative, productive, joyous and healthy lives.
Cedars is seeking a Facilities Assistant Manager to support the Manager of Facilities and Safety and colleagues in the Facilities department in the overall interior and exterior maintenance, repair and renovation of all Cedars facilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and time management skills along with the ability to coordinate competing interests.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. The rate of pay is $28 - $30 per hour, depending on experience.
As a Cedars Facilities Assistant Manager you will:
- Coordinate daily with the Manager of Facilities and Safety and maintenance staff to plan and manage repairs, replacements, preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Perform building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, exterior and interior needs, drywall and painting, and landscaping.
- Support the demands of Cedars comprehensive safety and IIPP program.
- Purchase supplies, tools and equipment.
- Assist Facility staff with all necessary inspections.
- Complete and submit maintenance work logs.
- Schedule and complete seasonal maintenance needs.
- Assist Facilities and Fleet supervisor with vehicle upkeep and service.
- Respond to verbal, written, text and voicemail requests.
- Support compliance with Cedars Safety Program.
Requirements
- Facility management experience, including project needs assessment, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, permitting, submit all inspections and vendor management.
- HUD experience a plus.
- ICS 1 & 2 certification or the willingness to acquire both.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and working knowledge of basic construction terminology and codes, regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of advanced computer equipment, such as modems, scanners, and other internet functions.
- Experience with MS Office and ability to learn spreadsheet applications and/or databases, scheduling and flow chart applications.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Clean DMV record and valid CA driver's license.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
- Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the job (see below).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
- An upbeat, can-do attitude, a desire to help others, and sense of humor are pluses!
Physical Requirements: - Excellent dexterity, vision, hearing and coordination.
- Ability to walk and stand for six or more hours/day.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
