Expanded Learning Recreational Instructor (Oakland Tech)

We are currently seeking a committed and passionate Program Instructor to lead physical, and enrichment activities as part of our Expanded Learning Program at Oakland Tech High School in Oakland, CA. Instructors must be able to work with up to 20 youth during expanded learning hours: Mondays: 3:40pm to 5:45pm & Wednesdays: 2:55pm- 5:45pm.

Engage students in community builders and physical activities that get them moving around. Including Basketball, frisbee, friendly competitions, badminton, etc. Experience with SEL

Benefits

• Pay rate: $28/ hour (depending on experience)
• Hours a week: 6 hours per week Part Time
• Stepping stone into career in education, leadership, advocacy, social entrepreneurship & social justice

Minimum Requirements

• No experience required

• Ability to reliably commute to Oakland, CA

• Commitment to education equity and leadership

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.

• Provide a safe environment

• Be a positive role model for struggling students

• Have fun engaging students in lesson plans that support school-day learning

• Run community circles based on restorative practices

• Ability to collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)
