Full Job Description

We are seeking committed and passionate Expanded Learning Program Instructors to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our East Bay Expanded Learning Programs. As a Program Instructor you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting.   • Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2pm-6pm/ Wednesdays 1pm-6pm

Minimum Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Must have an (a) Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 or more college units, or (c) High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
  • Must pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
  • Available Monday through Friday 24 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm
  • Ability to reliably commute to Pinole
  • Commitment to social justice and leadership
  • Passionate about learning and youth development: K-12
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred:

  • Commitment to a full school year, able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment
  • Create, plan, & execute lesson plans that support school day learning
  • Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)
  • Model BACR Best Practices
