Full Job Description
We are seeking committed and passionate expanded learning instructors to change the future of students by leading academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our team at Hoover Elementary in Oakland, Ca. As an group leader, you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an expanded learning setting. Be part of an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, makes the world a better place, and provides equity in education.
Benefits:
- Pay rate: $22 per hour
- Hours per week: 23 hours, plus PD *Hours are Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm Weds 12:30pm-6pm*

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have an (a) Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 or more college units, or (c) High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide exam
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must provide negative TB clearance
- No experience required
- Ability to reliably commute to Oakland, CA
- Commitment to education equity and leadership
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.
- Instruction for 20-25 Tk/Kindergarten students.
- Provide a safe environment
- Be a positive role model for struggling students
- Have fun engaging students in lesson plans that support school-day learning
- Run community circles based on restorative practices
