Full Job Description

Position manages the Medical Education program in planning developing and executing strategies to drive and support to ATEC’s internal and external educational activities including virtual, in-field, and ATEC corporate experiences, such as the Visiting Surgeon Program. This position will act with autonomy and authority as the primary departmental leadership to implement ATEC’s educational strategies, integrating with the Product Marketing and Field Sales teams, and in collaboration with supervision by the Executive Vice President, Clinical Strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with senior leadership to define the goals and priorities of ATEC’s Medical Education programs; hires and supervises team members in support of those goals.
  • Develops program promotional materials such as web-based tools and advertisements, program and/or event-specific brochures, and other collateral.
  • Defines the requirements and processes for training event requisition (including online portals for event registration and/or virtual educational events/activities/resources), interdepartmental review, and approvals. Implements such processes.
  • Manages vendor relationships including sourcing, negotiating preferred pricing, and maintaining high level of service.
  • Oversees the coordination and communication of event travel logistics (air, ground, lodging) per corporate policy guidelines.
  • Engages internal and external stakeholders to understand even objectives and directs Medical
  • Education team to develop event agendas that meet event objectives, aligning ATEC resources and securing availabilities through calendaring with all participants.
  • Ensures that lab logistics as relevant to the event agenda are considered and planned for, including notification of lab personnel, specimen ordering, equipment availability (e.g., c-arms, instrument sets), etc.
  • Ensures that all on-site meeting/event logistics are executed with a high level of service and attention to detail, including catering, signage, and personalized items such as name tags, locker keys, scrubs, etc.
  • Acts as Host of event, managing Medical Education team and other participants toward smooth agenda flow and execution, while representing the face of ATEC Medical Education to guests.
  • Manages department finances, including budgeting, expense reporting, ensuring timely Faculty and vendor payments, and program analytics.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of common computer applications (e.g.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Internet applications, etc.) required.

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team and matrix management structure.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Education and Experience

Completed BS/BA degree or equivalent, educational event planning experience required, medical device- specific experience referred.

For roles based in the United States that require access to hospital facilities, must be eligible for and maintain credentials at all required hospitals, including meeting any applicable physical requirements or vaccination requirements (including the COVID-19 vaccine, as applicable).

Salary Range

Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $115,000 to $135,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
