Salary: 110k-135k/yr, depending on experience

Job Overview/Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will oversee the development, planning, implementation, and performance monitoring of environmental health and safety policies and programs for Bioduro-Sundia.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develop safety policies, procedures, and training programs to align with regulations and corporate EHS policies. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create EHS awareness and implement new programs, and innovative techniques to ensure a safe working environment.
- Accountable for compliance with the company’s EHS training compliance verification, facility self-assessment, hazard (Risk) assessments, documentation control, technical evaluations, personnel qualification files, vendor/suppliers’ audits, safety inspection, and site client programs.
- Direct activities of the Environmental Health and Safety Committee, and the Emergency Response Teams (Spill Response Team/Crisis Management Team).
- Responsible for the creation/update of the Hazardous Materials Business Plan, Chemical Hygiene Plan, Controlled Substances Plan, Emergency Preparedness Plan, Biosafety Manual/Exposure Control Plan, Hazard Communication Plan, Hazardous Waste and Medical Waste Management Plans, Injury & Illness Prevention Plan, Radiation Safety Program, Respiratory Protection Program, and other Institutional Safety Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor and maintain DEA, Alcohol, Employee Medical Surveillance Programs Medical and Select Agent programs.
- Conduct Accident/Injury/Spill and Exposure investigations, reporting and root cause analysis.
- Maintain permits and fees, including APCD, ATF, Boiler Permit, Backflow Testing, Hazardous Materials Business Plan / Health Permit, DEA License, Elevator Permit, Environmental Fee, EPA ID, Hazardous Waste Disposal, Radioactive Materials License, HazMat Inspection Fees, Medical Waste Treatment Permit.
- Assure timely re-certification and maintenance of fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and survey meters, Irradiator, emergency equipment, fire extinguishers, and H-7 Building.
- Manages environmental processes to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with regulatory requirement

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or life science field.
- 5+ years of related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry implementing industrial and safety programs.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams across multiple locations; experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and vendors
- Proven track record managing regulatory compliance in a GxP environment
- Strong communication, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Experienced in program development, project management, and emergency response planning. Computer and mechanical understanding are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, action-oriented, self-driven, and multi-task.
- Intimate knowledge of the operation of laboratories and their workings is critical.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. or manipulate 150 lbs. or more.
- Ability to be respirator certified
