Full Job Description

Tomorrow Water is hiring an entry-level project engineer (Mechanical/Civil) at its Anaheim, California headquarters. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Project Managers, managing design progress, procurement, and subcontractor and vendor management.
  • Project cost negotiation with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing.
  • Development of scopes of work and procuring Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
  • Logistic planning allowing contractors to complete work in timely and efficient manner
  • Deliver quality projects within the given time frame and budget
  • Interact with clients in a professional manner
  • Work with Engineering, Designers, Construction Manager, Admin Team on project related basis
  • Track/Negotiate change orders
  • Submit RFI’s and submittals
  • Write accurate schedules
  • Create, organize, and distribute bid documents
  • Coordinate and collect subcontractor and vendor bids to assist Project Managers in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates
  • Evaluate bids for materials, equipment, and supplies, and select vendors for goods and services
  • Generate purchase orders to vendors and track purchase order
  • Coordinate equipment and material deliveries for Project Managers and others
  • The work may take place in a combination of office settings and construction sites. The Project Engineer must be willing to travel to various project sites and work outdoors in various weather conditions, as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Education or formal training in project management and/or engineering is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a construction, engineering, or architectural setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in Abode PDF and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate across various levels of an organization.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Procore, Timberline, and Microsoft Project is preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of construction industry standards is preferred, but not required.
  • Financial management experience creating and managing complex budgets
  • Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • High level of motivation, integrity, and commitment to team and customers
  • Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work
