Stingray Direct is a direct-to-consumer, large-scale, performance-based e-commerce company. We are seeking a highly experienced, results-driven email and SMS Marketing Manager who will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of our Lifecycle channels to deliver an exceptional experience for customers and subscribers alike. 

As a key management member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and loyalty within our business across our primary brand Stonehenge Health, along with future brands, as we build our portfolio of health and wellness innovations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in email & SMS marketing, subscriber acquisition and retention, SOPs, KPIs and overall performance marketing, while possessing an innate passion for health and wellness. 

This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and will support the Omni-channel brand initiatives.

Requirements

  • Testing and Optimization: Implement A/B testing and experimentation to improve the effectiveness of email and SMS campaigns continuously
  • Software Tools: Experience leveraging midsize ESP such as Iterable, Klaviyo, HubSpot, SalesForce or similar  
  • Segmentation and Personalization: Develop and refine customer segmentation strategies based on behavior, acquisition point, and engagement metrics, ensuring personalized messaging that resonates with different audience segments
  • Drive Email & SMS Innovation: Ensure marketing campaigns engage and convert target audiences, optimizing message content, timing, and segmentation to achieve high open and click-through rates
  • Reporting: Manage reporting requests and ongoing analyses for campaign performance, key insights, and strategic learning and lend strategic expertise to grow SMS channel revenue and other Lifecycle KPIs significantly (role will develop reporting dashboards and own weekly performance deck build and presentation to larger team)
  • Email & SMS Acquisition: Must have experience in developing acquisition strategies to smartly grow our email and SMS subscriber lists while being mindful of unsubscribes and spam reporting to ensure we are capturing the right audiences 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as creative, social, product development, content, and customer support to ensure a cohesive customer journey and consistent messaging
  • Mechanics: Must be an expert at scheduling and properly defining communication audience/send segments (although the role will build a team, there will be times when you will be required to execute both a hands-on and strategic approach) 
  • Compliance: Ensure all email and SMS marketing practices adhere to relevant regulations and best practices and review/QA all email/SMS campaigns and LPs where applicable
  • Technical Guidance: Provide and facilitate the resolution of CRM platform issues, expediting requests from across the organization
  • Uphold high standards for marketing, creativity, and copy in all Lifecycle programs and maintain a relentless focus on creative testing (e.g., images, copy, CTAs) - establishing a feedback loop to optimize results with the creative team.

Capabilities & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Information technology, Business, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in email & SMS marketing, with a proven track record of leading departments in a B2C business (preferably in the wellness industry), encompassing strategy, messaging, segmentation, optimization, and A/B or multivariate testing
  • Experience leading nurture strategies and cultivating customer relationships
  • Proficiency in a contemporary midsize CRM platform, demonstrated by a track record of successful multi-channel, multi-touch campaigns
  • A KPI-driven mindset, with the ability to frame project work within a business impact context and the skill to share this perspective across the team, with a strong ability to gain senior buy-in for initiatives requiring approval 
  • MS Office power user, with exceptional MS Excel and Google Sheets skills required:  Experience in data analysis and manipulation using tools to derive meaningful insights (experience with Power BI big plus) 
  • Previous involvement in subscription-based businesses and LTV modeling
  • Exceptional English oral and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • A "no task too big or too small" mentality, reflecting your willingness to tackle any challenge with enthusiasm and determination
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with working on highly matrixed teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required
  • Project Management skills are required
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and content management systems
  • Experience with Shopify Plus and Recharge Preferred
