As a Dispatcher/Router, you will be a key member in ensuring the company’s services and delivery goals are achieved in a timely and presentable manner. The ideal candidate will remain calm during stressful situations and possess excellent communication skills. We are looking for a hardworking Dispatcher to join our rentals division.
Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Create efficient routes for drivers.
- Receive and answer emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Receive and dispatch orders.
- Communicate with drivers daily regarding schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, and emergencies.
- Partner with the operations manager to develop weekly and event schedules for drivers.
- Manage dynamic team shift schedules and plan coverage weeks in advance to ensure timely deliveries.
- Address problems and make requests by communicating with necessary parties or providing solutions.
- Utilize necessary equipment, including computer software, radio, and phone, to dispatch personnel, vehicles, or field units to appropriate locations.
- Work with the customer service department to schedule deliveries and services.
- Review driver route books on a daily basis.
- Maintain and keep inventories updated.
- Enforce safety standards.
- Pitch in and help with other activities as needed.
- Handle special projects assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to multitask.
- Successful work experience as a dispatcher or in a relevant position.
- Willingness and ability to take appropriate action with little supervision.
- Solid working knowledge of procedures and guidelines to maintain compliance.
- Fluent in English (oral and written); other languages are a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and during emergency conditions.
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with subordinate employees.
