Job Overview/Summary
The Director or Senior Director, Antibody-Drug Conjugates will lead a multidisciplinary team playing a significant role in biologics drug discovery and new technology development in the area of antibody-drug conjugates. The individual will report into the President, drug discovery services and will contribute to the overall strategy and direction of ADC research.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
·Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality services for global customers to support the needs of customers including target and payload selection, conjugation method development and process development, in vitro evaluation and screening of payload-drug linkers, and design of in vivo efficacy studies.
· Lead the team to develop state-of-the-art ADC conjugation technology platforms as well as combination drug therapy. Tracking the progress of ADC conjugation technology to improve tissue-specific targeting and therapeutic index of ADCs, including site-specific conjugation, linker engineering, novel warhead development, antibody design and optimization, and the utilization of antibody fragments, protein scaffolds, bispecifics and other formats.
· Responsible for leading the implementation of platform technologies using core ADC conjugation methods, including site-specific conjugations, conventional cystaine and lysine conjugations, thio-bridging conjugation, multiple-valent conjugations and etc.
· Oversee the maintenance and conditioning of laboratory instruments and equipment in the department, manage the laboratory operations effectively to ensure all systems running smoothly.
· Responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating talents to build an outstanding team
· Partner with Business Development to win new clients and business in ADC area

Requirements
· PhD or Master in a relevant scientific area, such as antibody or protein engineering, protein biochemistry, biotechnology or similar field, plus a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in biologics research.
· Recognized leader in scientific specialty as evidenced by industry experience, publications, membership on journal editorial boards, etc.
· He/she must be an excellent communicator and highly effective in interacting with key internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to establish high level strategies for new drug technologies, and ability to apply new technologies to drug discovery.
· The candidate must be a team player and leader, with great coaching and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge in chemistry, cancer biology and Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering (ADPE) is a plus.
