Future’s Creative Team is looking to hire a Director of Production to support the work across the many facets of our business - Fashion, Beauty, Homes, Gaming, Technology and more.
The Director of Production will be involved with all aspects of pre and post-production, sourcing photographers/videographers, booking of studios/locations, hiring all freelance talent & crew, organising and managing all shoot day logistics, and working closely with the creative and project management team members. The Director of Production will also be responsible for managing the other Producers on the Production Team along with running the team’s budget.
This individual should be comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume, working environment and skilled in maintaining and continuously improving workflow efficiencies. Superior communication, problem solving skills, supportive management style, and ability to prioritize are a must.
This role reports to the Vice President of Creative and can be in Los Angeles or New York.
What you'll be doing...
This position is responsible for both administrative and production work, including but not limited to:
- Working directly with creative/art directors on all stages of productions.
- Negotiating rates and booking crew: photographers, directors, DP’s, wardrobe stylists, locations, studios, set / design, hair and makeup artists, caterers, production support and other necessary crew members and logistics.
- Coordinating and securing all insurance and permits as needed.
- Handling all model agency outreach, casting (in person and zoom), and securing final model bookings.
- Managing on set production (run of show, managing schedule on set, set up and strike, handle any issues on set, etc).
- Building production estimates and reconciling all shoot related billing and expenses at the end of job.
- Providing production expertise and pricing to other departments (Sales, Integrated Marketing, Creative) for potential shoot pitches and programs.
- Generating all purchase orders and conducting all administrative finance work needed for the Production Department.
- Forming strong partnerships across cross-functional teams – Creative, Editorial, Branded Content, Sales, etc.
- Managing and supporting the other Producers within the Production Department.
- Maintaining strong communication and organisational skills.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Handling a high pressure work environment.
- Travelling if necessary.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…
- 8 + years experience in shoot production (fashion/beauty industry as a priority)
- 4 + years experience in managerial responsibility
- Experience producing Branded Content / Advertorial work ideal!
- Exceptional project management skills, can work independently and can plan and prioritise
- Strong management skills, mentoring other producers within department, advocating for best production practices
- Skilled in managing shoot and department budgets, well versed in budget planning, building and itemization / actual reporting
- Excellent creative thinking and problem solving
- Experience with rights negotiation and have a solid understanding of usage rights
- Have a broad network of contacts in the fields of photography, fashion and general production vendors
- Experience in casting and confirming talent
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Slides, Excel, etc., required to build, deliver, and manage production budgets and actualize final costs
- Excellent organisational skills and incredible attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and provide self-direction

This is a Hybrid role from our LA or NYC Office, working three days from the office, two from home
