Where Leadership Meets Compassionate Care

Join the Masonic Homes of California as the Director of Nursing for our beautiful, newly constructed skilled nursing facility in Covina. This is your opportunity to lead with purpose in a setting that fosters character, community, and excellence in care.

About Us:
The Masonic Homes is a charitable organization devoted to helping our communities and families live well and achieve meaningful and rewarding lives. We provide residential communities, statewide outreach services, financial support, and care management to members of the Masons of California – a nonprofit fraternal organization with more than 50,000 diverse members and to non-Masons alike. We are invested in California communities – supporting schools, community services, local charities, and children in need.

Your Role:
As the Director of Nursing, you will ensure the delivery of top-quality care while leading a dedicated nursing team. Central to this role is our belief in resident-directed care—an approach that honors individual lifestyles, preferences, and dignity. You will collaborate with residents, families, and staff to create care plans that empower each individual to achieve their highest practical level of well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect operational excellence, align with organizational goals, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strategically manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of care.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build a high-performing, engaged nursing team.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Oversee performance management and professional development programs to ensure staff growth aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies to achieve organizational success.
  • Drive quality assurance initiatives, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes and adherence to key performance indicators.
  • Monitor and optimize operational workflows to enhance resident satisfaction and streamline care delivery.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the nursing department.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and align nursing services with broader organizational strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum five years of professional nursing experience in long-term care and three years in nursing administration or leadership roles. DON experience preferred.
  • Education: BSN required; RAC-CT certification preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN license in California.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in budget management, data analysis, and operational strategy.

Why Join Us?
At Masonic Homes, we believe in creating an environment where care is not only about clinical outcomes but also about empowering residents to live fulfilling lives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead in a new, state-of-the-art facility where excellence, dignity, and compassion are the hallmarks of care.
