Job Description:
As Director of Engineering at Authorium, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical strategy and leading the development of our enterprise SaaS platform. You will drive engineering excellence while managing both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring we deliver robust, scalable solutions that transform how government agencies work. Your technical leadership will be crucial in building and maintaining our unified data platform while ensuring security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
How you'll make an impact:
- Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence
- Drive technical architecture decisions and implementation strategies for our enterprise SaaS platform
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including code quality standards, testing protocols, and documentation requirements
- Manage the engineering roadmap and release schedule, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features
- Own the technical aspects of security compliance and infrastructure reliability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership and external partners
- Drive innovation in our technology stack while ensuring maintainability and operational efficiency
- Oversee the engineering department's budget and resource allocation
- Lead technical due diligence and architectural reviews for major initiatives
Requirements
What makes you qualified for this role:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a B2B SaaS environment
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with AWS and modern CI/CD practices
- Deep understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements for government-focused solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and offshore development partners
- Strong business acumen with experience in budget management and resource planning
- Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication
- Track record of successful project delivery in an agile environment
- Candidates must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with document processing, workflow automation, or government technology solutions
- Knowledge of data integration patterns and experience with unified data platforms
- Background in scaling enterprise SaaS applications
- Experience with government or FedRAMP compliance
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
