About Us:

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center is a non-profit community health center that is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of our community by providing accessible, high quality care by integrating primary care, dental care, WIC support, mental health counseling, community health education and more. 

Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Clinic Management is responsible for the successful implementation and sustainment of data-driven best practices within our clinic operations. The position requires the individual to build strong and positive relationships and effectively influence leaders and staff to develop workflows that facilitate and drive team-based and data-driven healthcare operations. This individual must have demonstrated expertise in our electronic health record (EPIC) and ambulatory care operations.

This is a full-time benefited position working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday with periodic Saturday hours.

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing workflows that capture and communicate TVHC’s clarity plan strategic metrics including patient satisfaction, quality index, continuity of care, and access to patient care. Utilize these metrics to drive meaningful impact on the quality of operations throughout TVHC clinics.
  • Continually assess and identify key areas for operational and quality improvement within TVHC that are focused on our Clarity Plan. Work with operational and clinical leaders to develop and implement workflows that address these areas for improvement. Ensure sustainment of all improvements using change management and LEAN quality improvement strategies.
  • Serve as resident superuser on EPIC and OCHIN-specific workflows, both in real-time as well as through strategic assessment of organization gaps and opportunities.
  • Work with leaders to introduce and sustain the use of EPIC quality and operational metrics to inform real-time decision-making and implementation of quality improvement activities.
  • Drive performance in the achievement of our clarity plan metric goals utilizing PDSA and/or LEAN quality improvements.
  • Work closely with Associate Medical Directors, managers, and front-line clinicians to utilize clarity plan metric data in regular team huddles and meetings.
  • Responsible for Registration and Front Desk functional areas. Oversee the accurate collection of patient demographics, insurance, co-payments, and consent forms. Ensure that all Registration and Front Desk workflows are documented, audited, and updated as changes occur.
  • Assess and implement technical (including OCHIN) optimization efforts in our Registration and Front Desk functional areas.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Chief Operations Officer, including the temporary coverage of critical roles.
  • Meets or exceeds the Service Excellence Standards of TVHC, Inc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. required.
  • BA/BS degree in Health Sciences Administration, Healthcare Administration/Management, or other related field preferred; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in operations management, preferably in an ambulatory facility, is required.
  • Knowledge of Federally Qualified Community Health Centers (FQHC), payer systems preferred.
  • Experience with quality and performance improvement is highly preferred.
  • Experience with LEAN health care management principles is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Able to relate appropriately to, communicate effectively with, and develop trusting relationships with diverse patient populations and with staff.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with patient population and staff; demonstrate a high degree of diplomacy and tact.
  • Culturally sensitive and demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with ethnically diverse populations.
  • Able to motivate staff, promote team building, and assume leadership role within the clinical arena.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in regard to job duties and assignments.
  • Ability to travel to designated locations, as assigned by supervisor.
