We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Ventura County, CA. As a transportation brokerage company, we are committed to providing the highest level of integrity and quality of service to our clients daily. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and trailers. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles, while maximizing uptime and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and components, including but not limited to brakes, transmission systems, HVAC systems, and electronic controls.
- Repair and/or replace faulty engine components, such as fuel injectors, pistons, bearings, camshafts, and crankshafts.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that occur while on the road, and take appropriate corrective action.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, identifying any potential safety hazards.
- Complete necessary paperwork associated with repairs and maintenance, including documenting repair work and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts and supplies.
- Adhere to OSHA and DOT requirements for safety and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, ensuring the safe storage of hazardous materials and waste.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- ASE certification or equivalent required.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engine maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT requirements for safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must have a valid driver's license with ability to drive tractor trailers
