Full Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and critical thinking individual to join the team as a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst. This role provides technical support for deploying, configuring, and optimizing our DLP security platforms.
In this role the DLP Analyst will use DLP tools to:
- Better understand the organization's data and information classifications.
- Discover and identify intentional and unintentional data loss threats.
- Validate the process, technologies and services handling critical information.
Responsibilities
- Remediate DLP alerts and perform analysis for triage/escalation.
- Maintain DLP technology and compile reports.
- Partner with engineering, operational, people/HR, and product colleagues.
- Contribute to risk measurement, perception, mitigation and prevention with data stories.
- Analyze business, product and security data, uncover evolving threats/risks, identify weaknesses and opportunities.
- Partner with the Incident Response team to escalate and respond to potential or real threats.
- Define, implement and support process and technology improvements related to preventing unauthorized disclosure, modification, removal or destruction of information.
- Partner with the DLP Engineer.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security awareness training programs for relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent in computer science, statistics, math, internet security or other relevant majors. Or equivalent on the job experience from academia, law enforcement, military service, or government service.
- 5+ Years of Experience reviewing and remediating DLP alerts.
- Knowledge of the relevant data privacy and protection regulations.
- Ability to grasp technical aspects, willing to learn new and challenging technology, enthusiasm in accepting challenging assignments.
- Ability to think critically, objectively, rationally. Reason and communicate in a result-oriented, data-driven manner.
- Knowledge of NIST CSF, RMF, and SP 800-53.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CrowdStrike.
- Familiarity in statistical analytical tools and data visualization.
- Experience with policy/rule software tools.
