Data Collection & Research Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Collection & Research Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting ghostwriters to develop impactful leadership content through meticulous data gathering, organization, and analysis. The ideal candidate will thrive with their sharp attention to detail, strong research acumen, and proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools. Data Collection & Research Specialist, Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough research to gather relevant data from various sources, including online databases, industry reports, and academic journals. 
• Accurately input and organize collected data into Excel spreadsheets, ensuring data integrity and consistency. 
• Verify the accuracy and credibility of data sources to maintain high-quality standards in the information provided. 
• Identify and summarize key trends and insights from the collected data. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights and support decision-making processes. 
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and visualizations of data findings for key stakeholders. 
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data collection and analysis methodologies. 
• Support ad hoc research projects and initiatives across portfolio companies as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data collection, research, or a related role.
• Experience in the venture capital or finance industry is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
• Strong ability to conduct detailed and comprehensive research using various sources.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
• Ability to identify trends and insights from data and present them in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
