Full Job Description
CPI is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing team! We posted a similar job last month, this is for a new position (not a duplicate re-post of the same job). We are a full-service consultancy and professional services firm specializing in large capital projects (infrastructure, energy, etc). We are headquartered in San Diego, CA, but our team is fully remote.
Job Duties
- Understand the client’s industry and business, interpret trends, and learn leading practices and metrics
- Visualize data in an easily consumable way for business stakeholders
- Gather, synthesize, and analyze data to meet business needs
- Execute ETL processes in order to assess client datasets, identify nulls or errors, and load to appropriate platforms
- Perform data analysis and compile technical reports and findings
- Operate comfortably with several analysis and visualization technologies
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years of related experience (i.e. business analysis, information systems, customer relations, demand response, program management, continuous improvement, project management, database management, etc).
- Proficiency in SQL
- Proficiency in Power BI
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving and continuous process improvement abilities
- Ability to present complex technical information and concepts in a concise way in writing and verbally
- Ability to effectively participate in multi/cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
- Ability to write and run select type queries against multiple tables using a development tool such as Toad or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Knowledge of database management best practices
- Ability to perform ETL processes against large datasets
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Communications, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field a plus.
- Energy utility domain knowledge

- Salary: $70,000-$100,000+ depending upon qualifications and experience.
