For more than 100 years, Cedars of Marin has provided day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities -- our outstanding services help to support creative, productive, joyous, and healthy lives. Today Cedars supports nearly 200 adults across Marin County who are working artists, weavers, jewelry-makers, gardeners, animal caretakers, chefs, neighbors, community volunteers, and much more!
Cedars is looking to hire an outstanding full-time Controller to lead the finance team and be responsible for financial reporting, evaluating, creating and implementing processes and managing three accounting staff, all on premises.
As the Cedars Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare, analyze, monitor progress and report financial information and supporting schedules with accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial results to Senior Leadership.
- Proactively identify and implement process, workflow and system improvements and efficiencies to standardize, automate and streamline operations.
- Supervise general ledger, accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, payroll and all related transactions.
- Manage grant reporting, cash flow and the process of the annual audits.
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Responsible for the training, supervision and evaluation of accounting staff.
The annual salary is $80,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting systems, principals and financial reporting.
- Ability to effectively manage staff, administrative functions and projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong business acumen and logical problem solver.
- Proficiency in Word, Outlook and advanced level Excel skills, CYMA preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion, and exercise good judgment in handling and disseminating information.
- Ability to work with compassion, patience and understanding in an environment shared with adults with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
