Full Job Description
The Bethel Church Contributions Specialist plays an integral role in the day to day operations of the Finance office. The Contributions Specialist is responsible for the receipt and recording of Contributions and various other Receivables as well as the reconciliation and processing of merchant processor receipts.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving and count contributions and other receivables this includes but are not limited to:
- Count Cash following established internal control procedures
- Ensure accurate data entry of checks and cash received, reviewing envelopes and checks for designations, notes and/or instructions
- Copy and maintain all documents received with donations
- Coordinate with security to arrange bank deposits
- Create and submit journal entries from Arena into Intacct General Ledger or Accounts Receivable subledger
- Deposit non-contribution related deposits, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure accurate allocation of funds received
- Reconciliation of Arena donor records with Intacct entries
- Reporting on contributions.
- Manage office deposit box
- Process all merchant process income to all the various departments on bi-monthly basis. This includes doing a reconciliation between frontend software and the merchant processor data. Work towards doing this on a weekly basis.
- Processing all wire payments received
- Monitor giving@bethel.com email address and providing excellent and timely customer service to both internal and external donors. This includes answering phone calls from donors.
- Maintaining building ATM
- Manage Accounting Office Credit Card Receipts
- Managing Cash Counting Room schedule with various departments
- Maintains financial security by ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in continuing education opportunities.
- Various other administrative duties as needed for the accounting office
Requirements
- Cash management experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
- Basic accounting skills advantageous
- Long-term interest in accounting and finance advantageous
- Understanding of designated contributions
- A problem solver and a critical thinker who enjoys numbers
