Our platform provides subsidized medically tailored meals and healthy grocery delivery at reduced costs, or even free, through partnerships with insurance companies, governments, universities, non-profits, and employers.
We are looking for a self-driven Community Engagement Representative who is interested in a contract position to join our team in San Bernardino or Riverside. As a Community Engagement Representative, you will be the face of Tangelo in the community, engaging with community members at various enrollment events to help them qualify and enroll in health benefits offered through their Medi-Cal health plan.

What you'll do
- Engage in friendly and direct personal interactions to increase community awareness of available benefits
- Assist community members in using the enrollment tool to determine their eligibility and explore the various benefits available to them and their families
- Handle all questions and concerns from community members with professionalism, courtesy, and empathy
- Participate in events to better understand the needs and concerns of the community
- Evaluate community members' eligibility for different social programs
- Adhere to all company confidentiality guidelines
- Contribute to team meetings and strategic planning efforts
- Comfortable standing or being outdoors for extended periods during events
- Perform light physical tasks, such as lifting up to 10 lbs
- Travel locally (within a 50-mile radius) at least 80% of the time
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
- Must reside in San Bernardino or Riverside county
- Previous experience in community development, social services, or a related field is a plus
- A friendly and approachable demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with local resources and services for community members
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
