Summary Description:

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, has recently acquired a large, multi-national sensor business with global revenues in excess of $250 million per year, and is looking for an experienced and talented Consolidations Manager to take our consolidations and reporting function to the next level.

The Consolidations Manager will be responsible for the consolidation of Syntiant’s financial statements as well as various aspects of internal and external reporting.  The Consolidations Manager will have significant interaction with corporate accounting, the FP&A team, the business units, foreign entities and the tax organization. A successful candidate will be a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of the application of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting.  A control and process-oriented mindset, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and desire and ability to identify, recommend and lead improvements is also important.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate financial statements, including preparation of appropriate consolidating and eliminating journal entries.
  • Perform or direct maintenance of the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) consolidation system, metadata changes and mapping files.
  • Ensure that consolidated balance sheets and income statements within HFM are correctly stated, which includes proper elimination of all intercompany balances.
  • Support future SEC Reporting team with supplemental information as necessary.
  • Ensure processes are performed in accordance with internal controls.
  • Work closely with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Serve as liaison for all HFM users within the Company and perform training sessions as needed.
  • Continually evaluate system processes across the organization and lead projects to streamline and improve internal and external reporting.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience and technical knowledge in consolidations and reporting.
  • Experience with a global company and foreign operations / foreign currency translations. 
  • Knowledge of HFM and Oracle ERP system.
  • SEC and SOX reporting and compliance experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and become the Hyperion Administrator.
  • Understanding and implementation of scalable business processes is critical. This includes assessing, developing, and implementing repeatable practices within the consolidations and reporting area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including advanced Excel functionality.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with effective relationship building and influence.
  • Strong process orientation; well-structured and well-organized.
  • Strong project management, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid financial and business acumen.
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and a passion for a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay.  The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $130,000 and $160,000.  Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
