Communications Director

About Us:

Our Venture Capital fund is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through cutting-edge technologies. We spun out of a leading lab at Stanford Medicine, generating 17 startups with a combined $6.5 billion valuation. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented VC Comms Director to work directly with a portfolio of about 50 visionary healthcare founders to amplify their reach and showcase their impact on the health tech landscape.

The Role:

We're seeking a dynamic and creative social butterfly who excels in all things communication and marketing: event production, press outreach, public relations, and social media. You'll play a critical role in shaping the public image of our funders, engaging our community, and positioning our VC fund as the leader of early-stage deep tech health investing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media and Content Creation: Craft compelling video and written content for social media channels. Use storytelling to highlight our founder’s innovations, investment insights, and the impact of our fund in the health tech ecosystem.
2. Event Management and Coordination: Organize and coordinate events such as webinars, conferences, and networking gatherings that bring together VIP investors, startups, and industry experts. Ensure seamless execution from planning to post-event follow-up.
3. PR and Press Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, blogs, influencers, and journalists. Write press releases, and pitch stories, and manage interview requests to enhance our visibility in the industry.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for technology and healthcare, with an understanding of the venture capital ecosystem, is a plus.
• Proven experience (and love) in social media management and content creation, particularly in social video creation.
• Strong track record of event planning and execution, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Experience in PR, including crafting press releases and building relationships with media.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a flair for engaging diverse audiences.
