Collision Repair Technician

California Collision Center, an independently owned and operated Auto Body Shop with locations in Oceanside, Escondido and Sand Diego is seeking a skilled and motivated Collision Repair Technician to join our team at our San Diego operation. We are a family-owned business offering state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology to deliver the highest quality collision repair services. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality collision repair and restoration work on various makes and models of vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles to assess damage and determine necessary repairs.
- Repair or replace damaged vehicle parts, including body panels, frame, and mechanical components.
- Use industry-standard equipment and techniques to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition.
- Follow detailed repair procedures and manufacturer specifications to ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards.
- Work closely with other technicians and shop staff to coordinate repair tasks and ensure a smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate and detailed repair documentation, including labor hours and parts used.
- Stay current with automotive repair trends, new technologies, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, shop cleanliness, and overall operational efficiency.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians when needed.
- Communicate with shop management to report on job progress, vehicle status, and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a collision repair technician or in a similar role is required.
- ICAR Certifications are a major plus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, techniques, and technologies.
- Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models and their specific repair needs.
- Ability to work with hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers and colleagues.
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- At least 21 years old.
