Full Job Description
Under the supervision of the Site Operations Manager, the Clinic Supervisor, MA is responsible for overseeing clinical and registration processes within the clinic/department(s)/team(s) assigned, including but not limited to: patient registration, and intake, assisting medical providers and other medical assistants as needed, injections, maintenance of exam rooms and related tasks. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all medical receptionist and medical assistants are crossed trained in every department, coordinating patient flow, facilitating staff training, meetings, participates in hiring of new staff, problem solving, inventory, ordering of medical supplies, vaccines, assist with complying with OSHA, CLIA, IZ standards, assists in audits, and other supplies.
Compensation: $30.77 - $33.60 per hour, depending on years of experience
Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Site Operations Manager, the Clinic Supervisor oversees the Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant and Eligibility areas of regular appointments and drop-in patients.
- Ensures all clinic staff are cross-trained and up-to-date with clinical skills.
- Manages and resolves complaints related to clinical services.
- Assists with all medical assistant and medical reception functions when needed to maintain effective patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Assists practitioners during examinations as needed, and within scope.
- Ensures that reusable instruments are cleaned, sterilized.
- Tests medical and laboratory equipment to ensure effective functioning and ensures quality control test are being completed as needed and documented properly.
- Performs inventory, and maintains adequate medical supplies, vaccines and other supplies needed.
- Supervises and helps manage the vaccine programs and serves as the clinic vaccine coordinator.
- Facilitates audits and ensures timely and accurate correction of any identified discrepancies.
- Assists Site Operations Manager with the hiring of clinic staff.
- Coordinates and facilitates staff trainings and meetings with Site Operations Manager.
- Assists with managing staff scheduling and handling call-outs at the clinic.
- Performs all duties for successful electronic health record entries and maintenance (i.e., Epic) for each client/patient visit within the designated time set by the organization.
- Prepare patient’s daily co-payments and balances for processing to the Accounting Department and reconcile cash drawer, according to procedures.
- Works with other clinic staff (i.e. Clinicians, Nurses, Integrated services) to ensure excellent patient care delivery.
- Performs other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant certificate required.
- Current CPR license required.
- Minimum two years clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience, in healthcare preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to problem solve and to receive and give feedback.
- Ability to work with a team or independently to enhance clinic efficiency.
- Competent to work with computer programs, registration and scheduling systems.
- Ability to competently serve people from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative, delegate, and assist in responsibilities for department’s operations.
- Ability to travel to designated locations.
