Summary
We are currently seeking a Chemical Technician with experience in wet etch processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding in chemical handling, Acid Waste Neutralization (AWN), wet etching techniques and has experience with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our laboratory and manufacturing processes. This is a TEMP to PERM role.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute wet etching processes following stringent operational and safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain the AWN system, including pH level checks and probe calibrations.
- Conduct AWN system spot checks using a separate pH probe to ensure accuracy.Ensure compliance with USD permit requirements for AWN operations.
- Submit timely and accurate reports to the USD detailing AWN system compliance and incidents.
- Responsible for the maintenance and operational integrity of the RO/DI water purification system, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality water to support the wet etch and AWN equipment.
- Efficiently manage hazardous waste from satellite accumulation to the central accumulation area, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Perform thorough inspections of accumulation and chemical storage areas.
- Maintain detailed logs of hazardous waste management activities.
- Oversee the chemical inventory for the wet etch process, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and avoiding shortages.
- Accurately label, store, and handle chemicals according to established EHS standards.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of USD and California’s environmental and wastewater treatment regulations.
- Proficiency in maintenance tasks associated with AWN and RO/DI systems, including technical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of EHS guidelines, hazardous waste regulations, and chemical storage best practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills, capable of effective collaboration and reporting.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to details.
Education Requirement:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in a chemical laboratory or manufacturing setting, with expertise in wet etching, hazardous waste management, chemical inventory, AWN, and RO/DI systems.
- Experience as EHS Technician strongly preferred
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.
- Physically capable of performing laboratory task, standing for prolonged periods. May be required to sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to coordinate timely shipping of orders.
