Aspire Medical Staffing is looking for a certified pharmacy technician to provide services at Federal Correctional Institution Terminal Island.

Compensation Package:
- Rate: $22.98/hour
- Health & Welfare: $4.57/hour- allocated for medical benefits or you can take cash in lieu of benefits
- Total Compensation (rate + H&W): $27.55/hour
- PTO: 80 hours
- Sick Leave: 56 hours
- Paid Federal Holidays
Location: Terminal Island Federal Correctional Institution- 1299 S Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731
Hours: Monday- Friday, 7:00am to 1:30pm

Requirements
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
- Certification:
- Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- BLS certified through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: One year of experience as a pharmacy technician after graduation.
Job Duties:
1. Interpretation of prescription orders received from authorized prescribers, including Physicians, Dentists, Optometrists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and mid-level providers.
2. Entering date and printing labels for new and refill prescriptions using the pharmacy prescription software program.
3. Notifying the Pharmacist of any discrepancies in filling or distributing medication orders.
4. Filling and labeling new and refill prescriptions prior to final check and dispensing by a Pharmacist or other independent practitioner.
5. Conducting medication and supplies inventories and inspections, including needles and syringes.
6. Preparing lists of medications and supplies to the purchase using the pharmacy ordering software program.
7. Completing and maintaining pharmacy activity logs.
8. Replenishing working stock medications and supplies in prescription processing and medication distribution areas.
9. Routine cleaning of prescription processing and storage areas.
10. Maintaining pharmacy files, records, reference subscriptions, and periodicals.
11. Separating and processing non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste and returns.
12. Assisting in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities and projects.
