INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The Capital Markets Intern will support the investment team in various aspects of capital markets, including equity and debt financing, financial analysis, and investment strategies. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the real estate private equity industry and contribute to SoLa Impact's mission of promoting affordable housing in historically neglected communities.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
SoLa Impact is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. SoLa is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. SoLa currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist in financial analysis and modeling for potential capital markets transactions
● Contribute to due diligence efforts, including researching market trends and regulatory requirements
● Support the capital raising process by preparing investor presentations and materials
● Assisting in the development and execution of investment strategies
● Collaborate with the investment team in evaluating new investment opportunities
● Conduct research on real estate and capital markets to inform investment decisions
● Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on investment strategies
● Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
● Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field
● Strong interest in real estate finance and capital markets
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
● Strong analytical and quantitative skills
● Excellent communication and presentation skills
● Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
● Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
● Previous internship or relevant work experience is a plus
COMPENSATION
$17.00 per hour
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field
- Strong interest in real estate finance and capital markets
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is a plus
