Full Job Description

We are seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team at QSI, an Aldinger Company.  

As a Calibration Technician, you will work independently to test, calibrate, and repair physical dimensional instruments and equipment across differing fields and environments.  

We service a wide variety of customers across many industries including aerospace and medical, which requires a broad cross-section of skills. The ideal candidate has well-rounded physical/dimensional calibration experience as our team covers calibrations in many disciplines. These include a wide variety of physical/dimensional instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque instruments, pressure gauges, pH meters, and load cells among others.

Location: On-site in our Lab and at various customer sites in Oxnard, CA and the surrounding area

Day to Day Responsibilities: 

  • Complete accurate and timely calibrations on customer sites and in our lab. 
  • Perform routine and complex calibration on a wide variety of equipment per company processes and instruction documentation.  
  • Perform calibration of variety of devices and instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards. 
  • Ensure all calibration activities comply with industry regulations and quality standards. 
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment. 
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects. 
  • Working directly with the client throughout the calibration process from the first onsite touch point to completion of the project, including good communication to provide client updates on services needed. 
  • Maintain calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date. 
  • Interact professionally with customers, providing excellent service and support.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of work experience in physical dimensional calibrations 
  • Proven excellent attention to detail, and ability to perform precise procedures consistently 
  • Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. 
  • Able to lift 50 lbs  
  • Able to climb, kneel, drive and stand for long periods of time 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record 
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customers’ locations in the Oxnard, CA area  

Nice to have: 

  • Military PMEL Training and Certification 
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Electronics or other Technical Fields 
  • Completed formal calibration training in both Electronic and Physical/Dimensional disciplines or equivalent experience.  
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university 
  • Metrology experience 
  • Experience with IndySoft
