Position Title: Bilingual (Spanish) Travel Medical Assistant – Orthopedic Clinic
Location: CMG NorCal – Concord, CA
Travel Requirement: Concord to Sacramento (Downtown Area)
Job Summary:
CMG NorCal is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Travel Medical Assistant for a full-time position supporting our Concord-based orthopedic clinic while also running clinics in Sacramento for our orthopedic surgeon. This role involves traveling between Concord and Sacramento as needed, supporting both practices and providing administrative and clinical assistance to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, chart preparation, patient intake, and coordinating care on a lien basis. Compensation includes mileage reimbursement and paid travel time, with the expectation of occasional overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification required..
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or orthopedic setting preferred.
- Strong skills in medical records management and patient scheduling.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in EMA, Ambula, Salesforce, and other EMR/EHR systems, but will train the candidate.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under time constraints.
- Familiarity with lien-based healthcare coordination is a plus.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Clinic Operations:
- Assist in both Concord and Sacramento clinics by:
- Taking patient vitals and reviewing medications.
- Conducting patient intake and addressing initial questions.
- Preparing charts for accuracy and completeness prior to and during clinic days.
Scheduling and Records Management:
- Scrub schedules for Concord and Sacramento clinics to ensure:
- Patient medical records and imaging are uploaded and available prior to appointments.
- Appointments are scheduled and rescheduled as necessary.
- Coordinate provider orders to external facilities, including:
- Imaging centers, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and X-ray facilities, often on a lien basis.
Travel and Coordination:
- Travel from Concord clinic and Sacramento clinic, ensuring all operational needs are met.
- Maintain communication with the Concord office and ensure seamless coordination of schedules and patient care between locations.
Systems Management:
- Utilize EMA, Ambula, and Salesforce systems to track patient information and manage electronic medical records (EMR).
