Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

Summary

The Battery Technician, Assembly & Testing will be working closely with Engineers and Technicians to support our key client with Battery Pack Assembly and Test. They will also be working to support the Production Test team when required. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team. This role will report to the Product Test Supervisor. This is a TEMP role with an opportunity to be converted to PERM.  We have two (2) positions open for this role.

 

Job Duties

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures to ensure the product is per the client’s specifications.
  • Knowledge of using soldering equipment and minimum 1 year of soldering experience in a manufacturing environment. Battery assembly experience preferred.
  • Cell preparation per specification and Battery Pack Assembly
  • Perform basic testing such as visual check to ensure quality and OCV check to ensure performance
  • Additional duties will include tasks supporting the Production Test Team of Technicians and Engineers. Such as visual inspections to ensure the end product meets the company standards of quality and performance.
  • Input data into quality management software
  • Prepare cells for shipment. Able to lift and move boxes up to 30 lbs
  • May be asked to support electrical cell testing.

 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic electrical connections.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with PCB soldering required.
  • Using and maintaining hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, drills, Dremel.
  • Using and maintaining battery production equipments such as but not limited to, pneumatic cutter, degas machine, formation machine.
  •  Knowledge and understanding of Battery Test Equipment such as mass scale, digital multi-meter, and cliper.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of tasks performed is upto and above the expected company standards.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Take responsibility for ensuring that all safety protocols are followed per instructions.
  • Keep work area clean and well organized.
  • Must be a team-player as well as be able to perform tasks with minimum supervision.

 

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.

 

Physical Demands & Work Location:

  • Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
  • Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
  • Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
  • May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Flexibility available for start-time.

  • Salary: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour. Depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
