Banking & Finance Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join a Banking and Financial Services group of a top, international law firm, in one of the following offices: Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Dallas, and Pittsburgh offices. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry experts in a niche practice area and focuses on consumer finance regulatory and compliance practice. The selected candidate will work closely with partners and senior counsel, assisting in federal and state regulator investigations and supervisions. Key responsibilities include reviewing policies and procedures, managing compliance systems, and analyzing financial services statutes and regulations to support client regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist partners and senior counsel in federal and state regulator investigations and supervisions.
• Review policies, procedures, and compliance management systems.
• Analyze financial services statutes and regulations to support client regulatory expectations.
• Conduct extensive legal research and provide proficient work product.
• Direct interaction with clients and regulators to address compliance issues.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the bar in the candidate's home jurisdiction.
• 3-5 years of experience in finance, banking, or related regulatory practice preferred.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle extensive legal research and interact effectively with clients and regulators.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000 annually, based on a full-time work schedule.
• Annual discretionary bonus eligibility.
