The AV Technician’s role will center around installation of the designed scope of work. The AV Technician will establish the needs and expectations of the project, and have the ability to understand the technical drawings for the AV systems, and write up proper documentation required to support the project for execution by the AV team. The AV technician may need to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Requirements
- Work closely as part of the AV team, to assist in installing the technical requirements for a Video Conferencing Room Design using hardware such as but not limited to, Crestron, Poly, Logitech, Biamp, Shure and QSC.
- Can correctly measure and hang TV’s, projectors and screens, speakers, microphones etc.
- Understanding and able to perform requirements in the Rough, Trim, and Final stages in projects.
- Understanding of Structured Cabling projects and be able to differentiate between Category Cabling (Cat 5, Cat6(6a), Coax, media etc.
- Terminate the various basic types of AV connections.
- Understand basic network infrastructure.
- Understand verbal and written instructions.
- Clearly communicate and document processes to team and stakeholders.
- Work closely with the support team to determine trends and iterate on designs to improve stability.
- Assist in the Installation of high quality video conference experiences from the ground up with consideration for scalability and rapid deployment.
- Can travel regularly during the week. Most of our projects are remote installations.
- Have basic AV Technician tools.
Qualifications include but not limited:
- 2 years’ of previous experience in Commercial AV installation.
- Strong technology skills with the ability to troubleshoot.
- Highly organized.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cameras, control systems, audio, video, projectors, displays, and other related technologies.
- Some understanding of IT and networking systems.
- Helpful and highly collaborative.
- Must be willing to travel 75% for this role.
- High school diploma or 2 years’ of previous experience with Commercial AV installation, preferred.
