Attorney - Litigation

Direct Counsel is looking for an associate attorney for a civil sex crime litigation practice. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of plaintiff litigation experience. This opportunity offers a competitive compensation package and a wonderful work environment.

Requirements

• Propound and respond to discovery, handle law and motion practice, attend court hearing, take and defend depositions, including expert depositions, handle all motion practice, attend mediations, prepare for trial
• Conduct discovery, including issuing subpoenas, conduct interviews, and review legal documents
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to reach settlement agreements
• Draft pleadings and other legal documents, such as motions and discovery requests
• Prepare witnesses for court appearances
• Communicate with clients throughout the litigation process to keep them informed about the status of their cases and any new developments
• Conduct research on legal issues associated with cases
• Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and interview experts to support the client’s case
• Draft legal briefs and motions to be submitted to the court
• Present cases in court by arguing facts and citing laws to support the client’s position

Qualifications of the Litigation position:

• Motivated with the desire to achieve top level results
• The ability to work well with a team as well as work well independently
• Required Experience of the Plaintiff Personal Injury position
• Must have a minimum of 2 plus years’ of solid experience in litigation in State Courts
