The Role?

The Associate Manager, Package Engineering will be responsible for supporting the Package Engineering team in the development and execution of packaging strategies to drive innovation, sustainability, and cost effectiveness. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure the successful launch of new products and the enhancement of existing products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the development and execution of packaging initiatives to support New Product Development, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand, Sales, Product Development, Operations, and Creative, to ensure alignment on packaging requirements and specifications.
  • Work with external vendors to identify and source packaging components that meet brand aesthetic, quality, and functional requirements within project time and cost targets.
  • Participate in packaging development projects, including developing packaging briefs, specifications and testing protocols, managing project timelines, overseeing artwork and Pre-Production Sample requests and approvals, distributing and tracking standards, maintaining product spec spreadsheets, and managing sample requests.
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of packaging materials and structures to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by identifying opportunities for packaging optimization and waste reduction, while working to contribute to the company's overall sustainability goals.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Package Engineering or a related role, Consumer Goods / Cosmetic Industry preferred.

  • Must be based in Los Angeles.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, package development and manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
  • Be available to work on-site at our HQ office, where you'll collaborate closely with our dynamic team to drive packaging innovations and initiatives.
  • Experience working with external vendors and coordinating packaging development projects.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
