ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to those transitioning from or at risk of homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. Additionally, we implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services and health care sectors.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Case Management Department at Brilliant Corners includes four programs located in Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire, all of which provide intensive case management services within a supportive housing context. Our participants include people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness and people exiting institutions, such as jails or hospitals. Our programs provide services in different types of housing settings, including scattered-site and project-based. Our team of Case Managers are dedicated to a Housing First approach that values client agency, dignity, and personal growth.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Case Management will oversee the three case management scattered site programs in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties: Breaking Barriers, Permanent Supportive Housing – Scattered Site, and IE Case Management. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Case Management and Deputy Chief Program Officers to successfully implement and scale our case management programs. The Associate Director of Case Management will establish strong relationships with our funder stakeholders at Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Los Angeles County Justice Care and Opportunities Department, and Riverside County Department of Public Social Services. The Associate Director of Case Management will uphold the culture and values of the Case Management Department and agency, and coach and support staff to ensure excellent service delivery and performance. The position is ideal for a person with proven leadership who is strategic, person-centered, collaborative, and committed to social justice and racial equity.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee our scattered site case management contracts across Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
- Provide direct supervision to Program Managers, and coach and support teams to provide excellent, comprehensive services to all clients.
- Collaborate with all program funders and stakeholders, including DHS, JCOD, Probation, Chrysalis, DPSS, Housing Authorities, and LAHSA.
- Partner closely with our FHSP and IE Housing teams to coordinate services to our clients in our scattered site programs.
- Regularly represent Brilliant Corners with partner agencies and key stakeholders in order to strengthen existing relationships and develop new partnerships.
- Provide oversight of program budgets and expenditures in collaboration with Director, Program Managers, and the Finance Team.
- Support Director with work planning and vision setting for the department, including any efforts to grow the department.
- Enhance performance benchmarks and quality controls in order to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and clean annual audits.
- Cultivate leadership and professional growth through the establishment of training and coaching opportunities for both supervisory and direct service roles.
- Support efforts to expand opportunities for client engagement and feedback.
- Serve on the Brilliant Corners agency-wide Leadership Team, responsible for informing and implementing agency wide policy initiatives.

Requirements
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related clinical field required; LCSW licensure preferred
- Demonstrated leadership as evidenced by increasing levels of responsibility and management over the course of the candidate’s career
- At least 3 years of experience supervising a team
- At least 3 years of experience providing direct mental health and/or intensive case management services to vulnerable populations
- Experience working with individuals with complex health needs and/or individuals who have experienced homelessness
- Experience developing and monitoring program budgets strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Demonstrated management and team-building experience
- Strong interpersonal and client engagement skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Flexibility regarding scheduling and prioritizing of tasks
- Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills in decision-making situations
- Well-versed in relevant evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally responsive services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations
- Basic computer knowledge, MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required; familiarity with Salesforce a plus
- Possession of a valid, clean California driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle are required
