Centrally located in Torrance, California, Sunnyside Nursing and Post-Acute Care provides sub-acute nursing care, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and long-term care. Assistant Administrator reports to Executive Director and provides support in daily and overall operation of the skilled nursing facility; steps in to assume Administrator's responsibilities in Executive Director's absence.
Job Description
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with State and Federal Regulations
- Manage and Supervise operations of specific non nursing departments
- Assist the Executive Director in performing daily tasks related to operations
- Manage and oversee implementation of specific designated projects from start to finish
- Be the chairman for the Retention and Recruitment committee to spearhead action plans targeted at improving employee retention and satisfaction
- Make daily rounds and routine inspections of the facility to verify that established policies and processes are being implemented and followed.
- Assist in developing plans of correction in accordance with state and federal requirements
- Respond to building emergencies after hours and on the weekend as needed.
- Participate in state/federal surveys of the facility.
- Assume Manager on Duty weekend rotation with other Department Managers
- Consult with department managers concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating and/or correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services.
- Authorize the purchase of equipment/supplies in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
- Foster personnel relations, employee morale, and support and encourage teamwork.
- Review the facility’s Quality Measures data and public information for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with necessary postings
- Complete physician and other health professionals credentialing process to ensure compliance
- Complete re-credentialing applications and other documents to keep the facility in compliance with participating providers
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
- Current California Nursing Home Administrator License
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to make sound independent decisions.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and management style.
- Must be detail oriented and able to carry tasks through the end
- Enthusiasm toward resident care and service delivery excellence
- Comfortable operating google email, google sheets, and google docs.
- 1-3 years’ experience in long-term care with supervisory background
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Ability to adapt and handle pressure
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call afterhours and weekends
License/Certification:
- California Nursing Home Administrators License
