Accountant - Construction Industry

We have a current opening for an Accountant in Sacramento, CA.

Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:

• Maintenance of general ledger and reconciliation of accounts
• Performs timely month-end, quarterly and annual close processes
• Performs variance analysis of overhead accounts
• Maintenance of job cost adjustments
• Works with operations to ensure timely reporting on projects
• Maintains business licenses in all city and state agencies
• Prepares Use tax returns for all state and local agencies
• Assists with annual audits (property tax, insurance, etc.)
• Provides timely and consistent communication and insight within the department
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from four-year college or university
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• 2+ years of relevant working experience either in public accounting or in private industry preferably in the construction industry
• Relevant experience includes accounting and analysis, journal entries, and maintenance of the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Power BI

Salary Range

• $70,000/year - $75,000/year
