Job Title: Sr. Analyst – FP&A
Reports To: Sr. Director - FP&A, North America
Summary
Central Moloney, Inc. is searching for a highly motivated and talented Senior Financial Analyst to join the organization’s Finance department. This position works closely with department leaders across North America and supports the Company’s financial forecasts, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, and special projects. The individual provides strategic support to management including preparing financial presentations, development and oversight of financial and sales forecasting models, influences outcomes by offering data-driven insights, and other ad-hoc analyses in support of corporate objectives. This position reports to the Senior Director of FP&A, North America.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and oversee dynamic comprehensive financial forecasting models to forecast key items including discretionary expenses, fixed/variable expenses, depreciation & amortization, interest, capex, revenue, intercompany sales & eliminations, foreign exchange drivers, and intercompany consolidations
- Collaborate with department leaders and lead discussions to gather inputs and ensure alignment with corporate goals
- Bridge forecast & budget versus prior scenarios highlighting key changes
- Evaluate forecast and budget ensuring alignment with company-wide strategic direction, making recommendations on process improvements, efficiencies, and model enhancements
- Assist with 13-week cash flow forecasting ensuring adequate working capital
- Track capital expenditures and assist in return on investment analysis
Financial and Operational Reporting and Analysis:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of financial reports vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Effectively summarize and communicate financial and operational results vertically and cross functionally providing actionable insights
- Evaluate profitability and assess performance (e.g. price, volume, and mix)
- Monitor foreign exchange fluctuation and conduct sensitivity analyses quantifying exposure
- Collaborate with Accounting throughout month-end and monitor general ledger coding to ensure accuracy and continuity with prior periods and forecast scenarios
- Contributes to regular external reporting and makes recommendations to management on enhancement opportunities
- Develop and oversee reporting for internal stakeholders driving alignment and accountability
- Provide analytical support to department managers on a routine basis.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators to monitor and assess financial performance (e.g., production throughput, book-to-bill, etc.)
Financial Operations and Data Management
- Seek out new opportunities to leverage ERP data to enable better decision making and forecast assumptions
- Leverage and maintain large datasets to deliver meaningful insights and recommendations
- Collaborates closely with accounting and assists in the development and enhancement of financial policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis with other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Education And Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field, broad analytical skills, and 5-7 years of relevant experience. Preference for previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Advanced Finance and Accounting foundation with demonstrated understanding of financial statements
- Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insight and action
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing cost structure and cost accounting
- Strong business acumen with the ability to work cross functionally to influence decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present large amounts of information concisely and to non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Index/Match, PowerQuery)
- Extensive data mining and analysis skills required, with the ability to format findings into coherent and comprehensive models
- Detail-oriented focused on accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities executing on deadlines
- SQL skills preferred
- PowerBI skills preferred
