(Remote) Sr. Backend Developer (Contract-to-hire)

Metova's engineering team is seeking a Sr. Backend Developer to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone who can deliver technical excellence while also engaging in meaningful conversations with clients to understand their needs and manage expectations effectively. A candidate who is a highly motivated, collaborative, and technically skilled individual with a passion for shaping the delivery of innovative software products for our customers. A candidate who is also enthusiastic about web development and eager to contribute to the evolution of our web services team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead backend development for a media platform, ensuring robust and scalable architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers and project managers to deliver high quality solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain APIs, microservices and server side logic using best practices.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and security of backend systems.
• Work closely with product teams to scope features, identify blockers, and ensure on-time delivery for our customers
• Recommend frameworks and libraries and implement as needed to solve client issues
• Expected to independently attempt to solve problems
• Learn new technologies, frameworks, languages, as new projects require

Requirements

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ Years of Node.JS experience
• 5+ Years of Typescript experience
• 5+ Years of Docker experience
• 5+ Years of ECS experience
• Experience creating and implementing architectural diagrams
• Experience with system design
• Experience with relational databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 We consider it a plus if you have experience with:  

• MikroORM or a similar ORM
• Experience with multi threaded systems
• Experience with microservice architecture
