Position Summary
The Sr. Business Intelligence Developer leverages Power BI, BigQuery, and Microsoft SQL databases to define, develop and deliver actionable reports and dashboards for the organization. Working across the organization, this leader will become knowledgeable about the business and be able to act as an internal advisor on the best use of data to serve operational, administrative, and customer-facing needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive efforts across the collective to provide insight into results, trends and detailed metrics allowing partner and corporate teams to better understand patient care and operational issues.
- Collaborate and influence internal teams by demonstrating strong knowledge of all data across lines of business.
- Knowledge of ETL tools and methods to map and load data from practice management systems into a centralized data store.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on the data and can articulate gaps / challenges related to the data.
- Gathers requirements for new reports / dashboards, documents recommended approach and formal approval from the requestor.
- Construct / maintain financial and operational reports and metrics using PowerBI (some reports may be delivered via Excel or PowerPoint as well).
- Edit, develop, test, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Create dashboards that drive decision making by succinctly presenting operational and financial metrics to stakeholders.
- Import/export files for data analysis, maintaining data integrity.
- Validate data and reports developed to ensure accuracy.
- Troubleshoot system issues and train staff on using analytics tools.
- Learn IT department policies and procedures to understand the operation of existing systems.
- Prepare procedures for new or revised reporting and system changes
Requirements
- High school or equivalent graduate required.
- Excellent Communication skills and ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, as well as strong follow through skills
- Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of reporting / analytics applications utilizing advanced databases and independent operating platforms. Subject matter expert on Power BI and proficient with DAX.
- Power BI (including DAX), BigQuery, and SQL experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of database environments. Experience with SSIS / SSRS / SSAS and scripting languages a plus.
- Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills and strong data skills required.
