Position Description
We have an opportunity for a Senior HR Generalist to join our HR Team! Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, you will play a critical role in supporting 400+ employees. The position is based in our corporate office located in Downtown Phoenix and is a hybrid role consisting of three days in the office and two days with the ability to work remotely. You would be joining an HR Team that values collaboration and appreciates different perspectives. This position will be empowered to continuously innovate to ensure the employee experience is exceptional while performing the following primary responsibilities:
Responsible for Onboarding and Off-Boarding
- Oversee all onboarding tasks for new hires: preparation and delivery of Offer Letters, background checks, drug screens, delivery of IT equipment, ADP setup, and new hire documents.
- Partner with Hiring Managers to create On-Boarding Plans and provide content guidance.
- Facilitate informative and engaging New Employee Orientations (NEO). Train new leaders on the People Platforms: ADP, Workable, Lattice, and Cornerstone.
- Responsible for the off-boarding process to ensure a smooth transition.
Employee Relations and Liaison
- Triage, address, and resolve employee issues in an effective and timely manner. When appropriate, conduct investigations and prepare findings and recommendations.
- Oversee the progressive disciplinary process. Ensure the process is applied consistently and fairly.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve issues, i.e., payroll and legal. Leverage external partners, when necessary, i.e., payroll provider and insurance broker.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures. Recommend process improvements.
- Partner with leaders on a variety of issues and discuss options and best practices.
- Serve as the liaison between leaders and payroll, i.e., document and submit employee changes.
Support Company Initiatives and Special Projects
- Assist the Corporate Recruiter with filling positions.
- Participate on the culture team and assist with events.
- Prepare content and presentations for a variety of HR-related topics.
- Application of Employment Laws and Compliance
- In-depth knowledge and application of employment laws to ensure compliance, safety, and equity.
- Responsible for HR compliance reports to include, EEO-1, 5500 preparation and filing.
- Oversee mandatory HR compliance training by ensuring training is assigned and completed in a timely manner.
- Provide various reports to stakeholders upon request.
- Assist with audits.
Health Insurance/Benefits Administrator
- Participate in the Open Enrollment process, i.e., conduct audits and submit census files.
- Respond to benefit issues and inquiries. Partner with insurance carriers, broker and/or payroll to resolve issues.
- Manage the qualifying events process.
- Manage benefits invoicing by auditing, partnering with accounting, and maintaining an accurate census file with each benefit carrier.
Leave Management and Accommodations
- In partnership with the Leave of Absence Management provider, support the employee in the leave process.
- Oversee the ADA Accommodation process.
Requirements
- BA, BS Degree or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of HR Generalist experience.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with leaders and employees.
