Position Overview: The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities for the company. This includes sourcing, negotiating, and managing the purchase of materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary for utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, an in-depth understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s purchasing strategy, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and timely delivery.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Manage the inventory, ensuring sufficient stock levels while avoiding overstocking and minimizing waste.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contracts and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and equipment.
- Ensure that purchasing activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Prepare and manage the purchasing budget, tracking expenses to stay within financial targets.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management in a construction or utility contracting environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient with procurement software, MS Office, and inventory management tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of utility contracting and related materials and services is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards is a plus.
