- Title: Programmer, Lead
- Salary: $160K - $200K
- Requirements: 7 - 10+ years exp in game production
- Location: 100% remote
Our client, a unique Gaming company, is seeking a Programmer, Lead to join their all-star team. We seek an Unreal Engine expert with a passion for game development, a keen eye for enhancing game quality, strong communication skills, hands-on experience in current-gen game development, and a desire to make a positive impact through games.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Unreal Engine expertise to optimize game systems, troubleshoot challenges, and craft innovative solutions
- Shape the game's technical direction, emphasizing performance, visuals, and gameplay quality
- Collaborate with art and design teams to translate creative ideas into efficient technical designs, creating a seamless game world
- Guide and mentor a team of engineers, fostering growth, and delivering on the project's creative vision within budget and schedule constraints.
- Manage code quality, bug triage, and project scope, ensuring a polished and reliable game
- Communicate effectively across disciplines, fostering inclusivity, and integrating the technical vision into the project
- Explore novel approaches aligning game design with positive social impact and staying current with industry trends
Requirements
- 7 - 10+ years exp in the lifecycle of console or PC game production, having shepherded multiple shipped titles
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Master of Unreal Engine and of C++
- Track record of successfully leading and mentoring development teams
- Generalist background with a mix of Gameplay, AI, etc.
- Strong grasp of technical limitations and the ability to align them with the project's vision
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and deadline-driven environment
- Capable of explaining complex technical challenges clearly and persuasively
