Firetrace International is looking for a Product Engineer

Firetrace is a global manufacturer of life-saving fire suppression devices. We’re in the business of protecting lives and livelihoods from the impact of fire. Our fire suppression systems keep businesses, people, and equipment safe by automatically detecting and suppressing fires in high-risk equipment, like CNC machines, vehicles, heavy equipment, electrical cabinets, wind turbines, and more!


What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’re a key member of the team and will enjoy significant exposure to the business while partnering with groups such as operations, marketing, and sales across the United States and our foreign markets.

A day in your life might include…

  • Partnering with marketing and sales teams to design new products or configure existing products to custom applications
  • Developing products, systems, and solutions in compliance with industry approvals and 3rd party accreditation.
  • Reviewing plans, schematics, product designs, etc. for opportunities for improvement as well as adherence to established policy and industry certification requirements
  • Providing technical support for products in the form of quotations, BoMs and documentation or performing physical product validation such as testing.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing guidance on designs for manufacturability
  • Interpreting customer requirements and developing a specification and product solution that is fit for purpose
  • Leading the design transition to manufacturing discussions and establishing processes based on approval and standards requirements, such as UL, FM, LPCB

What we need from you

  • A strong academic background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, typically acquired by completion of a bachelor’s degree or other relevant experience and education
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, with aerospace experience a plus
  • Proficiency with 3-D CAD modeling and drawing, Solidworks desired
  • Willingness to work in the Scottsdale office in hybrid environment
