Riot Hospitality Group is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pastry Chef to join our esteemed restaurant group! At our new supper club, we're redefining the art of pastry, blending tradition with cutting-edge culinary techniques to create unforgettable, boundary-pushing desserts. We're a vibrant, forward-thinking team that thrives on creativity, and we’re on the lookout for an innovative individual who can elevate our sweet creations to new heights!

The Pastry Chef will collaborate with the Riot Culinary team, crafting not just desserts but edible works of art. You’ll experiment with unique ingredients, avant-garde techniques, and global flavors to design mouthwatering desserts that captivate both the eyes and taste buds. Your role will allow you to explore the limits of pastry, from classic French patisserie to bold new concepts, while working alongside a dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a profound love for dessert and hands-on restaurant menu ideation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation: Lead the creative development and execution of our dessert menu, incorporating seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Innovate and experiment with new pastry trends, techniques, and flavor profiles.
  • Collaboration: Partner with our Culinary Director and culinary team to ensure cohesion between the dessert and main courses.
  • Team Mentorship: Guide, inspire, and train the kitchen team on dessert techniques and preparation, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency in every dessert dish.
  • Cost Management: Manage inventory, costing, and collaborate on new product launches.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end or innovative culinary setting.
  • Creativity: A visionary approach to flavors, textures, and presentation, with strong knowledge of modern pastry techniques (think molecular gastronomy, deconstruction, etc.).
  • Work Ethic: Passion for staying on top of pastry trends and bringing bold, fresh ideas to the table. Must be highly motivated, reliable, and dedicated to long hours, including weekends and holidays, with the ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on cleanliness, precision in baking, and consistency.
  • Leadership: Excellent mentoring and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire the kitchen team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for working closely with staff and management; must be fluent in English language – bilingual preferred (Spanish).
